Carlos Miguel Prieto to conduct at Carnegie Hall

Carlos in NYCLPO Music Director and Principal Conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto will co-conduct a special concert at Carnegie Hall on Thursday, February 18 as part of the “Arts Leadership in Focus” day, presented by The World Economic Forum and The Forum of Young Global Leaders. Prieto will be joined on the podium by celebrated conductor Valery Gergiev. 

The 7:30 p.m. concert will feature violinists Joshua Bell, called “the most celebrated American-born violinist of the modern era” and Julian Rachlin, considered “one of the most charismatic and exciting violinists of his generation.” They will be accompanied on stage by the Youth Orchestra of the Americas and musicians from El Sistema of Venezuela, the Manhattan School of Music and New England Conservatory. The performance will include Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 6, Saint-Saens’ Rondo Capriccioso and Ravel’s Boléro, among others.
